These companies seem to enjoy sabotaging themselves. The sad thing is that even after all this, most people aren’t going to leave Discord, so they’ll get away with it. When I told my guildies what Disc was doing, overall they said, “Idc. I’m not doing any illegal anyway”. A lot of people just. Don’t. Get it. It’s not about you not doing anything illegal. It’s about overreach, surveillance and the dwindling of the freedom of speech.
