When people say “God-given rights”, they are usually referring to the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness (or property). He’s saying that the right to own weapons, protects your life, liberty, happiness and property if someone is threatening it. My problem with this is that this mindset is outdated. It may have been true to protect the land the white people stole when the Natives attacked, but in 2025, there’s nobody out there physically riding up on your property to take your land and happiness, or kidnapping or enslaving you to steal your liberty. And if the government goes rogue, you’re not going to beat an army with your 3 home guns.
