The thought that someone can just take over a public card reader and wait until I’m sleep to start spending my hard-earned money like it’s theirs makes me want to crack skulls. They don’t even need your physical card because they make fake ones with your strip that contains all your data and sell them over the dark web. And yeah those chip cards stop nothing. Both my cards had chips and it stopped nothing. I sat there watching them deplete my card at a 7-11 while I had my credit card in my hand. I called my bank, the cops and the 7-11 and the cashier told me the men who did it just left and bought cartons of cigarettes. Apparently, she thought 2 men coming in to buy $75 of cigarettes was normal. All of this could have been avoided if the 7-11 cashier was aware of the cigarette heist where people from the north were coming to the south to buy cigarettes to sell back up north. I was furious.
