You Don’t Sound Like You’re From Virginia?

On my job I speak to people all across the country and it’s a common question that people ask me where I’m from.  I tell them Virginia and every single person has replied, “You don’t sound like you’re from Virginia.”  So just what do people from Virginia sound like?  I never asked them just where do I sound like I’m from then, so I’m curious.
