African Americans are descendants of the biblical Israelites?

Was just browsing through the Internet not even looking up the topic of African Americans and then I saw this link in Yahoo Answers that distracted me.  It was someone asking if African Americans are the descendants of the Israelites in the Holy Bible.  Someone replied yes and gave a pretty long history breakdown of it.
