@warandpeas I always find it quiet descriptive for people, that it seams more plausible for them that literal aliens came from light years away did something and than just disappeared, than humans just could have solved problems by themselves like thousands of years prior to AI…

Come on man. That's what humans do. We solve problems and built stuff. Just because you don't know how to do something doesn't mean anyone before you couldn't done it either.

Exactly this. I have thought the same thing as well. People dunnit, like we’ve always dunnit. It has always bewildered me why modern people think that past people didn’t also have their scholars, engineers, scientists and other professionals like we do now.

Humans as we know it are over 250,000 years old. We’ve had a lot of time to think about stuff.

However, I believe that the problem is largely due to adopting Eurocentric schools of thought in Western schools. It shows how arrogant and ignorant European culture actually is about the rest of the world. Europeans spread out around the world and essentially learned nothing. They largely think that since they didn’t build it, that they have to reach out to some other galaxy because surely those Black and Brown people over there in loincloths don’t have the intelligence to invent those kinds of things. Black and Brown people most certainly built those things since they existed 200,000 years before Europeans ever existed. 200,000 years gives a genetically curious mammal a lot of time to tinker with stuff.

It really speaks to Eurocentric thought about how little they think of people who aren’t white.

@eve @Mastodon Year, I really want to say, that this is not the thinking of the typically (white western) European anymore… But with all the stuff currently happening here right now, I actually don't know anymore.
