Kings Dominion

Kings Dominion

September 17, 2005

We’re suppose to be taking a family excursion to Kings Dominion today … yay 🙁I can imagine it being fun the first few hours before we turn on each other like rabid dogs. I haven’t been there for years though only because its so fuckin far away. But I’m not a ride-rider. I don’t like …read more.

I Should Be A Weather Reporter

September 16, 2005

Like I said, Hurricane Ophelia isn’t coming here. Everyone is getting all riled up over the Hurricane Katrina Factor and I been told everyone three days ago Ophelia isn’t coming here and would be nothing more but a cumulonimbus cloud by the time it gets here if it does. Right now its just spinning around …read more.

Just drifting along

September 15, 2005

It’s gotten cloudy, slightly breezy but still not really feeling any effects of Hurricane Ophelia. Bummer. Even the cloud cover is weak and looks like just another normal day in Newport News. I’m convinced it is just going to spin itself out to sea even though the big dogs at NOAA has put us in …read more.

No Ophelia

September 14, 2005

Oh well. Doesn’t look like Hurricane Ophelia’s coming here at all. After looking at how it’s spinning, it’s going to spin right past the Carolinas and then back out to sea. Bummer. I was hoping she was coming. This really sucks.

New Orleans Is Gone … BER

September 5, 2005

I think a lot of people are having a hard time accepting that New Orleans is just gone like that. What took the French . I have never been there myself but when I look at miles and miles of water at the edge of roof tops, there is no fuckin way the city can …read more.

Mudslinging

September 4, 2005

I knew from the moment I saw the devastation on television of Hurricane Katrina that once they displayed the throng of Black people, the racial mud was going to start slinging. I knew someone was going to play the race card. Hurricane Katrina is and will always be a disaster. The saddest thing is that …read more.

America’s Caste System

September 4, 2005

Over the last several days since the Katrina hurricane disaster in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama last Monday, I have been dissappointed in the way that the media always portrays Black people in a negative light. This is nothing new, this has been going on for centuries, but what wrenches my heart the most is an …read more.

Hurricane Katrina

September 1, 2005

A life-threatening hurricane always hits on or around my birthday; it never fails. It’s tradition for me. We had no hurricanes last year which is odd, but the year before that was hurricane Isabel on September 3rd 2003 which I will never forget. I literally saw my neighborhood turn into a disaster area before my …read more.
