Speaking of Dogs

So my Mom comes in my room talking about a joke a comedian made about dog owners looking like the breed of dog they own and she proceeds to tell me about a bulldog.

Then she says, “Oh, speaking of dogs, have you heard from your ex lately?”

I don’t know which was funnier.   The joke or the fact that she said the whole thing with a straight face.
